“With the finest of strokes, Peer Kriesel draws entire universes of grimaces, mythical creatures, and figures onto a wide variety of papers and historical documents that have lost their original meaning. Chaos reigns in his overpaintings – but it is also repeatedly reorganized by lines and geometric shapes. Immerse yourself in these surreal and fabulous worlds on haptic found objects made of paper, which are becoming increasingly rare in our digital society in an era of smartphones, QR codes, and WhatsApp messages.” So says the program brochure.

I am delighted to collaborate with Thole Rotermund, whose program otherwise features the likes of Kirchner, Klee & Co., and where I am now able to join the ranks with “Kriesel.”
